Mya's Baptism

On Saturday we celebrated Mya's baptism. The morning started out a little hectic. Greg's uncle passed away and his funeral was Saturday morning. We decided not to bring Mya to the funeral since it was going to be a long enough day as it was. Mya stayed with my parents in the morning and laid low.

The baptism was at 3 p.m. and it was great! We were so lucky to have all of Greg's brothers and sisters able to attend, which is quite a feat in itself! Mya was such a good little girl! She didn't fuss much at all! She was perfectly content to be held and look around at what was going on! She even seemed to enjoy herself when Father Ted doused her with water! I'm guessing that she wouldn't have minded playing in there longer!

Mya's godparents are Tanya and Justin and Noah. We're very sure that they will teach her all the ways of the world! ;) Mya is very lucky to have all three of them in her life!!

Mya's baptismal gown was made out of the fabric of my grandma's, mom's, and my wedding dress. Even the snap on the back of the dress was from my mom's wedding dress. Mya's Grandma Pat and Aunt Mary Ann made the dress from scratch. It is an amazingly beautiful dress and will be passed on down the generational line!

Mya also met some family members for the first time. She got to hang out with Michael, Jennie, and cousin Izzy. She also met Uncle Steven from Texas!
