Winona Weekend

This weekend the three of us loaded up the CRV and we headed down to Winona to do a little work.  We didn't actually do much on Saturday, it was nice to spend a quiet day together.  We did go outside to enjoy the nice weather and we got a small fire going.  Mya was a good little helper and gathered up branches to put into the fire...she likes to stay busy!

Mya had fun running down the hill and then consequently falling down the hill!

Since the Winona house is basically empty, we had to come up with our own fun.  No television., no internet, etc.  We spent A.L.O.T. of time coloring.  Coloring in coloring books and big on big cardboard boxes.  We also turned the dining room into a soccer field and football field.  We did have a lot of fun!

We did bring the laptop with us, but forgot the Elmo DVD's, bummer.  But, I did bring Toy Story, so we watched a little bit of that.  Mya has gotten into t.v. shows much more.  She loves Sesame Street and Curious George...we're going the PBS route with her!  :)

There isn't much that needs to be done to this house, it's looks so nice now.  But, Greg did put up new closet doors.  Of course, our little helper had to be in the thick of things.  She is totally interested in drills and screwdrivers and being by Daddy's side.  Very cute.

Mya's Daycare Adventures

Mya loves daycare...therefore, so do we!  She adores being around other kids her age and she loves her teachers.  We got lucky when we found where she's at!

Each day that she is at daycare, we get a sheet of paper telling about her day.  (Being a teacher, I LOVE this!)  It includes when and what she ate, when she slept, and all the fun things they do there.  We've gotten sheets that say things like they went for a walk, made fall trees, used counting mats with Halloween treats, had music time with instruments, etc.  Some of my favorite recent comments were: "Mya carried her babies everywhere and rocked them to sleep" and "Mya said "no thank you" to carrots!"  (We work very hard on the please and thank you thing and now she's saying no thank you...to carrots none the less...can't blame her).

Last week one of the fire engines from the fire department stopped by for the kids to see and pictures were taken.  Mya got a front row seat in the stroller to check out the fire engine!

Fun at the Farm

This weekend we headed over to my aunt and uncle's farm for a little family bonding time.  We had so much fun!  Not to mention, Mya walked away with some pretty awesome Halloween goodies!  We ate, played, ate, and played.  How could the day get any better?

Mya would walk up to the Gator and say "ride."  Well, how can anyone turn that down?  She went on several Gator rides that day!

Lisa and Blane brought along a pumpkin for Mya, so she and Cassie carved it.  Well, Mya kind of supervised and Cassie carved the pumpkin.  When it came time to take the "guts" out of the pumpkin, Mya gave it a shot but did not like the innards of the pumpkin!  Can't blame her, they are kind of gross!

Of course Mya was thoroughly excited by the farm kitties.  She especially had fun chasing Abigail, who (can you blame her) wanted to run away from Mya.  Mya is always gentle with animals, which is very nice to see.

Auntie Beck even brought out some fun things to play with, like bracelets, purses, hats and Minnie Mouse shoes!  The kid was in dress-up heaven!

Not only did Mya get to ride on the Gator, but she got to ride on the antique tractor!  I can already tell that she's going to love riding on the big tractors one day!

Leaves

Who doesn't love jumping in piles of leaves?  This weekend we spent time at Greg's parents house and Mya got to play in the leaves with her cousins.  Hopefully she's this excited about snow when the flakes start flying!

And just in case you were wondering, yes, she is wearing 6 pairs of underwear...

Pleasant Valley Tree Farm

The weather this weekend was absolutely amazing, so we HAD to take advantage of it by heading out to the Pleasant Valley Tree Farm.  Our first stop was the petting zoo.  To say the animals were a hit with Mya would be an understatement.  She stood and studied each one with amazement.  Mya is an animal lover via books.  This was a great opportunity to get her to experience the real things!

Her favorite animal were the puppy dogs.  They were sweet, cuddly and I seriously could have brought one home.

I loved the goats!  They poked their heads out of the gate, but I think Mya was scared because she didn't want much to do with them.  However, in her defense, they were poking their heads out really quickly and she wasn't quite prepared for them!

After experiencing those silly goats, she was hesitant to pet the horse!

She would crouch down and check out the birds in the cages.  Too cute!

We ventured into the corn maze too.  I should have brought a leash.  This kid had so much fun running through the corn stalks around and around and around and around.  It was so much fun watching her maneuver around!

After the corn maze, we went on a hayride and then Mya took a stroll around the pumpkins in a wagon.  The wagon was a hit!

Between it being warm and her nap time, Mya was out in the car almost immediately.

It was an extra fabulous day and the lovely weather made it just that much better!  :)

One More

Snapping pictures of Mya can sometimes prove to be a challenge.  She will sometimes let me take one picture and then come running over to see it on the camera.  If I try to change the subject (so she'll go back and MAYBE we'll get another picture) and she still wants to see more, she'll hold up one finger and then say, "One mowe?"  How do you say no to that?

Fantastic Fall Weekend

Mya really likes to help...especially when it comes to cleaning.  Her new favorite thing to do is help sweep.  She particularly likes sweeping outside.  What is it with kids and cleaning?

Mya just cracks me up.  She mimics us and will do things exactly like we do.  Case and point: I had my hands on my hips and little miss copy cat did the same thing.  She's always coming up with things that make us laugh.  Another thing we love is when she folds her arms on her chest.  She'll walk around like that and it's the cutest thing.  Over the weekend, we were sitting on the front porch enjoying the weather and two ladies walked by.  Mya crossed her arms, as shown below, and the ladies just started laughing.  It's like she's this little, mature thing.  Sigh.

Pumpkins have been all the rage with Mya recently.  She notices them everywhere and will yell out "Pumpkin!" when she sees them.  Grandma Shelli brought us a couple for our front steps and Mya got to see a ginormous one at Grandma Pat's house.

This weekend was absolutely amazing, weather-wise.  I'm so glad we got to spend some time outside, since we don't know how long it'll last!

Sunday we had family come over for dinner/Packer game.  It's never quiet when all the kids are around!  Mya loves her cousins, especially the girls!

The best part of the night was when Nadya, Trajan, and Mya played Hide and Seek.  They hid in the dining room closet.  Of course, it wasn't too hard to find them.  Every time i would ask, "Are you hiding under the table?," I would hear a little voice say, "No."
