Privacy

If you should ever come to our house and want to use the restroom, you might want to use the upstairs bathroom (as Tatiana found out)...

On a different note, Mya found another place to hide in the kitchen.  Hide and seek is soooo easy right now!

Apple Orchard

Today we went with my parents to some of the local apple orchards in Chippewa Falls.  I L.O.V.E. this time of year just because of the orchard apples!  Yummy!  And since Mya devours an apple on a daily basis, we made a trip out.

When we got there, they were offering hay rides, so we took a short trip around the orchard.  Mya liked riding in the wagon!  Never mind that all of these pictures have her fingers in her mouth...she's cutting more teeth.  :(

Up to No Good

All three of these pictures can describe the above blog title...

Cousins

Mya got to get some playing in this week with her cousins.  Izzy came up for a few days and Mya had fun playing with her.  Mya only gets to see Izzy a couple times a year, so she had fun catching up!  Of course, she loved playing with her other cousins too!

Coloring, Cabinets, and Cleaning

For the longest time, crayons were of little interest to Mya, unless she wanted to take a nibble on them.  This week, something clicked and she will not stop coloring.  She is very diligent and careful.  She loves when Greg or I color with her, too.  I love how she lays down on her tummy to color on the floor.  Cutest thing.

She's also been having fun taking the Tupperware out of the cabinet and then sitting in the empty cabinet.  She likes closing the door and then knocking from the inside.  She also brings her baby dolls in with her.  Greg said that someday we are going to "lose" her in the house and she'll just be hanging out in the cabinets.  Wouldn't surprise me!

Notice the little hand peeking out of the side...

Cleaning is also something that seems to interest Mya.  She's good at picking things up when we ask her to and now she likes to dust.  I was dusting one evening.  She saw me and asked for a rag.  Then she started dusting the doors and walls...I think I'll keep her around for her mad cleaning skills!

Here's our little lady jammin' out on a harmonica.  She's contemplating going on tour next year...

Sometimes...

*Sometimes you can read too many children's books in one day, but it's all okay when the kid plops in your lap and gives you kisses in return for book reading.

*Sometimes all you want to do is hold your "baby" after a long day and she wants nothing to do with it.

*Sometimes it's so nice to hear, when asked "Whose mommy is that?", the kid responds with, "Mine!"

*Sometimes it's okay if all a kid eats is mashed potatoes for dinner.

*Sometimes you need to be careful what you say, because someone might say it too...

*Sometimes you might wonder where all the night-lights have gone.  Don't worry, Mya' probably took them.

*Sometimes it gets annoying when people call your little girl a boy (even when she wears pink).  Hey, it's not her fault that she is hair challenged!

*Sometimes it is better to let the kid go to sleep at 6:00 p.m. rather than deal with the wrath of unhappiness.

10 Years Later

Today is September 11th and it is a day of remembrance.  I remember learning about the events of this day when I was getting ready in the morning for my college school day.  I remember coming home from school to learn that Greg had been activated.

So many things have happened in 10 years and I am thinking about all of the families, all over the world, who have been affected.

I'm also feeling very grateful for the blessings I have been given in life.  My husband and my daughter give me joy and purpose.  My family gives me fulfillment.

A Short Letter

Dear Mya,
I love you dearly, but I'm glad that you went to bed at 7:30 tonight because my guys in green and gold are playing.
Love,
Momma

SmartBoard Helper

I've been logging some extra hours at school lately, so Greg and Mya stopped by today to bring me some lunch.  I was working on a SmartBoard lesson at the time and Mya picked up one of the pens and starting doing some work.  Then she picked up the eraser and erased her scribbles.

I knew that when I started working with my SmartBoard that my 3rd graders were going to be pros...I just didn't think my 18 month old daughter would catch on that quickly!

Time Flies When You're Busy!

We've been really busy in the Telisak household recently.  I'm back to school and Mya is back at daycare.  She is making the transition to a new daycare center and it's going smooth.  My nights are too short with her and I feel a lot of guilt.
Oh well, gotta do what you've gotta do!

So, here are some pictures I've taken over the last couple weeks.

Reading books in her baby doll's crib

Brushing her teeth is a huge hit now that she has an electric toothbrush!

Reading books in her tent

Mya is obsessed with pictures.  So, I laminated some pictures of her cousins and put them on the fridge for us to quiz her on.  She knows exactly who each one is and gives each name a good shot!

Paying bills at the table

Whenever I get the camera out, Mya says "Cheeeeeeeeese!"

After work this last week, my cousin Lisa invited the two of us out to her house to have dinner.  Mya's daycare is just minutes away from my school and Lisa's house is just minutes away from there!  We love being in the EC/CF area and are able to spend more time with our families!

This is what you call babysitting...
