Christmas Eve

To say that Christmas Eve was a marathon, would be an understatement.  It was busy, busy, busy!!!
Santa came to our house Christmas Eve morning.  He dropped off a lot of fun gifts for Mya! She got some new Barbie dolls and a Barbie doll house, books, games, butterfly boots and a fancy new skirt.  Her favorite was the princess nightgown!  She whipped that nightgown out of the box super fast.  Of course, she had to put it on immediately!

She really wasn't grumpy in this picture, it was just early and the camera had a bright flash!

Later that morning we headed up to Greg's parent's house for a family celebration.  As usual, there was a lot of food and a lot of people!  Mya didn't get a nap in and so she did as well as could be expected.  Toward the end, she fell asleep in my arms, after a fantastic crabby moment.

Mya got some nice gifts too!  From Grandma and Grandpa she got a new shirt, a dress, a book and a few other things.  From her kid exchange (Nadya) she got some lip gloss, nail polish, headband and Rapunzel nightgown.  Again, the new nightgown had to be put on right away!  Do you notice a trend with the nightgowns yet???

Never a dull moment with Mya!

She patiently waited to open this present for the longest time!

Then we went down to my parent's house for our traditional Christmas Eve pizza feast.  We had cheesecake too...it was delish!

We opened our gifts then and, once again, Mya came out ahead.  She got a new princess chair/desk, princess dolls, Barbie car, dress up clothes, movies, and about a bazillion fruit snacks.  (The last one was from Uncle Noah!)  She couldn't wait to start playing with all of her new toys!

She was extremely tuckered out by the end of the evening and slept like a rock!

Christmas Saturday at the Farm

Before the craziness of Christmas snuck up on us, we headed out to the farm a few days early to celebrate.  Greg had to work on Christmas and the boys were going to be with their mom, so we had an extra celebration so everyone could be together.  Doug gussied up the new shed, blasted the heat and we had a fantastic time!

"The kids" played hopscotch and Blenga.  (Blane's version of Jenga)

We ate waaaay too much food and spent a lot of time visiting with everyone!

Mya got bundled up and went sledding for a short bit.  It was cold, but she toughed it out.  She wasn't so sure about going down the snowhill at first...BUT, once was all it took and she loved it!  These are times that I'm thankful that other people (Lisa and Cassie) want to do that fun stuff with her.  I'm just fine being the photographer!

Aidan's Birthday

Last weekend we traveled to Hartland to celebrate Aidan's 2nd birthday.  His party was at the local firehouse!  What a fun place for a birthday party!  Mya loved seeing the fire trucks and all that we got to do that day!

Sitting in the fire truck!

All the kids even got to spray a real fireman's hose!  It was cold and windy, so everyone got a little wet!

There was even a pinata!  Mya was a pro with the bat!  I took a few steps back when it was her turn.

Santa even came!  Mya was not so sure about him at first and didn't want to sit on his lap.  However, once she found out that Nadya was okay with it, miraculosly, she was too!

Talia wasn't about to sit on Santa's lap!
We even got to ride in a fire truck!  Way cool!!!

Whatever Nadya does...Mya does!  Little copycat!

Mya loved their dog, Roxie.  Probably because she's little!  She's used to seeing big dogs, like Boris and Howdy and they can be a bit intimidating to a little person!

We played outside for a little bit and got in a swing ride or two.  It was chilly, but still was a nice time to get outside and enjoy the day!

Mya is smitten with Aidan...even though he is her cousin!  Cuteness!  Happy birthday, little Aidan!

Rosy the Elf

Rosy the Elf has made her appearance at our house.  She is here to keep an eye on Mya and report back to Santa each night.  Mya knows that no one can touch Rosy...except Mommy.  (In actuality, no one is supposed to touch the elf or the magic will disappear.  However, on the first day of Rosy being with us, she fell out of the Christmas tree when we were marching around.  We decided it was okay for Mommy to touch Rosy, but no one else!)

Each day Rosy is in a new place.  Sometimes she is just watching over Mya and sometimes she is a bit more mischievous.  My personal favorite was when Rosy replaced Mya's stocking with a pair of her undies.  Pretty funny!  She even traveled with us to Milwaukee!  Here are just some of the antics our little elf has gotten into!
