Bath Time at Grandma and Grandpa's

Bath times sure are fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house! At home, Mya gets her bath in a whale bathtub...not nearly as exciting as the kitchen sink! Mya was enjoying her bath, so much so that she wouldn't sit down. She tried to keep her legs completely straight, the little monkey!
Mya might not appreciate the heinie pictures, but who can resist chubby legs and a butt full of cellulite! :)

Mya has really been interested in people's shirts and the colors that are on them. She was staring at mine, but it looked like she was staring at my chest instead. Remember those t-shirts that say something like "My Face is Up Here"? I'll let it slide this time!!

To Wake or Not to Wake?

Okay...this is how Mya's been for over 3 hours now!!! She didn't even flinch when the flash went off on the camera!
Hopefully she'll still sleep well tonight!

Two Months Old!!

No way! Mya can't seriously already be two months old, can she? She's a funny little thing. One of my favorite things about her is when she fake sneezes. She starts to wind up like she's going to sneeze and then all of a sudden there's this let down. A sigh, almost. It's the cutest stinking sound she makes! Greg and I laugh every single time she does it!

Mya hasn't really figured out a sleeping pattern yet. Typically she will only take cat naps during the day which last maybe 20-30 minutes each. At night she usually sleeps anywhere from 2-5 hours at a stretch. Last night she slept for 6 hours straight! Go Mya!

She continues to make us smile and she really has Greg wrapped around her finger. He works 12-hour shifts, but he loves to come home and cuddle with her. He's such a good dad!

Below is another picture I took of her this morning after she got dressed. Each time I put her in the rocker, her arm immediately drapes over the arm rests. It's pretty cute!!

Two Month Check-Up

This afternoon Greg and I took Mya to her two month check-up. Mya has come such a loooong way since she was born! When she was born she weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces (25th percentile) and was 19.25 inches long (25th percentile). Today she weighs 12 pounds (90th percentile) and is 22 inches long (50th percentile). We've got a little chubster on our hands! Let's just say she enjoys food! The best news is that Mya is healthy, strong, and continuing to grow! Here are a few pictures BEFORE the shots!

Then, Mya had to get an oral vaccine and three shots. The first shot wasn't bad at all, Mya didn't even cry. But the next two were more painful. Poor little thing cried as hard as I've ever seen her cry! I had tears in my eyes...it's awful to listen to your baby cry. Thankfully it didn't take long for her to calm down. Her next check-up will be at four months. I can only imagine how much she'll weigh by then!

Poor baby!

Mya Meets Emma!

This has been an absolutely beautiful weekend! Mya and I took advantage of it by meeting up with my friend Kristie and her daughter, Emma. Kristie and I carpool to work and so it's been so strange not chatting every day, since I'm on maternity leave. We had so much to catch up on with crazy stuff happening at work. We also chatted a lot about our girls. It's so nice that we have friends here in Winona that we can meet up with! We're definitely hoping to meet up more this summer for some playdates!

We were on a walk for about an hour and I found that might be Mya's limit. On the drive home she started screaming. However, once we got home and Greg took her out of her car seat, she stopped crying immediately and smiled at Greg. Yeah, that turkey sure has figured a few things out! :)

Cheap Entertainment

Who needs toys and books when your home is installed with a ceiling fan? Mya spent over 10 minutes just watching the fan. It's the simple things that get us through the day!

You Can Bank On It!

We made a quick trip into school this week to drop off a tadpole...more on that in a minute. Anyway, my 2nd grade class chipped in and bought Mya a bank as a "Welcome to the World" present. It's so adorable! Her name as well as ladybugs are on it! It was so thoughtful of them to do this for her!! Anybody have some loose change for the college fund? :)

Now the tadpole story...every school year I have to do budgeting for the next school year. We study the life cycle of a frog in 2nd grade and so I purchased a tadpole habitat for which you have to send away for the actual tadpole. I sent in the coupon for the tadpole in August because we were studying animals at the beginning of the school year AND the kit said it would only take 8 weeks for delivery. Well, the darn tadpole never came and I just kind of gave up on it. Well, I was out of town last weekend and Greg called me letting me know that there was a strange package that had arrived at our house...it was the tadpole! I quickly got a hold of my sub and asked if she would want it in the classroom. I delivered it on Wednesday and now the tadpole has a new home and name...Skywalker. Can you tell that the boys in my class had a strong pull in the name vote? :)

Lots of Smiles!

There's nothing I love more than seeing Mya's smiley face! She's so much fun to interact with. She smiles when she sees us and hears our voices. She really smiles when she is looking at all the fun things on her Baby Einstein activity mat. You can really tell that she is trying to figure out how to laugh too. She coos a lot and I think she likes hearing her own voice!!

Uncle Noah

My brother came over to my parent's house while Mya and I were in town. Mya liked Noah! We think it's because he's someone new to look at...she probably gets bored looking at me all day! Not to mention his voice is much deeper than my and my mom's voice! She was smiling a ton for him and you could tell she wanted to laugh! I'm also pretty sure that she liked the colors on his Brewers jersey!

Walk This Way

Greg had to work this past weekend and the plan was for my mom to come down and stay with us for a couple days. But, at the last minute Mya and I decided to head up to Eau Claire! There was a huge consignment sale at the Expo Center that I wanted to go to, so my mom and I went there and Mya spent some time with Grandma Pat, Auntie Tanya, and cousins Liam, Nadya, and Trajan. That's one wild bunch! Nadya wanted Mya to play dress up (she got out the small sized dresses for her!) and Liam told my mom that Mya has two teeth coming in already! Yikes! Thanks Grandma and Auntie for watching Mya!

I found some great deals at the sale and some super cute clothes for next summer for Mya! Always looking ahead!

We also had some beautiful weather over the weekend, so my mom and I took Mya for a couple walks. I felt bad because I couldn't keep up with my mom's walking pace...pushing a stroller is a work-out in itself!

We had a fun weekend at home and spent some time with both sides of the family, which is so important to do!

Bumbo Baby

Mya's neck muscles seem incredibly strong to me, so we tried out the Bumbo chair for the first time. I don't think we was overly enthused by sitting in it, but oh well! And I realize that her head is tilting over, which defeats the purpose of sitting in the chair, but I blame it on gravity pulling her sweet little cheeks over!

And...She's Out!

I put Mya on her tummy for some more tummy time and she fell asleep. Oh well! At least she got a good nap out of it (and some tummy time too!)!!

As Elmer Fudd Would Say...

...be vewy, vewy quiet! I was doing dishes this morning so I decided to put Mya in her bouncer. All of a sudden it got really quiet, I turned around and found that she had fallen asleep. This was super duper exciting to me because recently she hasn't been able (more like wanted) to sleep unless someone was holding her. I had to quick tiptoe to get the camera so that she wouldn't hear me and wake up! You can tell in the first picture I'm furthest away and then finally snuck up on her! You'd think I was hunting rabbits or something!

Smile, Baby!

I've known for a while now that Mya really likes soft blankets. She seems to be comforted at night when she is nuzzled into a comfy blanket. Well, today I laid out a fuzzy blanket for her to get in some tummy time. She started nuzzling her face into the blanket and then looked at me with her beautiful eyes and got a big smile on her face! Of course, the scrapbooking mom that I am, I had to grab the camera right away!

Play Ball!

Monday was opening day for the Brewer's baseball season! Mya and Greg watched the first part of the game together because I got to get out of the house! I went to see a movie with my friend, Kristie! When I got home Mya and I both showed off our new Brewers gear. Greg and I are hoping to get down to Milwaukee this summer (minus Mya) to take in a couple games. Any takers for babysitting duty?? :)

Mya was too busy focusing on the game to take time to smile!

Mya and Momma

Easter Sunday!

Easter started out with the three of us going to church with the Telisak clan. After church we had lunch. It turned out to be a smaller crowd than usual because Patrick was sick, so the entire Hull family stayed home. Tanya, Justin and the kids went to spend Easter with Justin's family and Steve wasn't feeling well, so he stayed home too. All in all, it only ended up being me, Greg, Mya, Christopher, Tina, Trajan, and Pat! It was nice because Pat got to spend some time with just her two youngest grandkids!

Easter Saturday!

On Saturday we celebrated Easter with my mom's side of the family. My Auntie Beck and cousins Lisa and Cassie came down to spend the day with us. We grilled out and had steaks on the grill...yum!!! It was so nice spending time with everyone. I love my family dearly!!

Buddha Belly

Are you feeling unlucky? Go ahead, rub Mya's buddha belly! It will surely bring you good luck!

Loves from Nadya

On Saturday we went over to Tanya and Justin's for an Easter egg hunt. Mya slept...better luck next year! Nadya loves her cousin, "Baby Mya." She gave her lots of hugs and kisses. She's also a really big helper and gave Mya her pacifier... whether she wanted it or not! Nadya and Mya are going to be bff's when they get older!

Spring Has Sprung...

...and so have Mya's cheeks! Let's just say that her cheeks are definitely pinch worthy! I think back to when she was first born and how little she seemed. She didn't seem to have an ounce of pudge on her!

(just a yawn, not a yowl!)
