Last Hurrah!

With summer quickly coming to an end, we've been squeezing in as much fun in the sun as we can!  We made a couple more trips up to the lake to spend time with family.

We don't get to see my brother that often, but he came back to town at the end of July for his birthday.  Mya was very happy to see him!

Lisa and Blane took Mya for a canoe ride into one of the back bays.  She had a great time!  Too bad canoes don't have spots for baby carriers, otherwise I would have strapped Ellie in!

One night we had a movie night outside on the big screen!  The boys rigged up a sheet, movie projector and everyone had a great time watching Despicable Me 2.

We enjoyed what we could of the weather and Mya stayed in the water as long as she could.

And Ellie?  Well, she hung out in somebody's lap usually!  :)

And then we celebrated Uncle Noah's birthday with a Curious George cake.  Mya picked it out!

We also met up with some of my cousins from Rockford that we don't get to see often.  Mya had a ball with the big kids jumping off of the water trampoline and putting on fashion shows!

These next two pictures are a couple of my current favorites.  Poor Ellie!

Ellie also got to try out the water and she seems to like it, even though it's not as warm as her bathwater!

And a couple videos for your viewing pleasure!

Mini Vacation with Mya

A couple weekends ago we took Mya to the Wildwoods Wildlife Park in Minocqua.  We left Ellie with my parents...it was my first time away from her overnight, so I was a bit sad.  But, Mya reminded me that I still have her...so that brought a smile to my face!

We left on a Friday afternoon and drove to Ironwood, MI where we stayed overnight.  We arrived, had dinner and then hit up the pool, where Mya showed us some of her swimming skills.  Greg also showed us his ability to launch her into the air and catch her.  She couldn't get enough of it!

The next morning we got up and traveled to the zoo.  By far, it is the best zoo/wildlife park I have ever been to.  They had tons of animals from all over the world and we were able to interact with some of them.  It was sooo much fun and Mya was able to see an incredible amount of animals!

The goats like to eat.  They tried to eat Mya's dress, my purse and the stroller seat.  They also got a hold of a package of crackers and ripped it open.

Greg and Mya got to feed a bear!

The parakeet pavilion was my favorite thing.  You could purchase a stick with birdseed on it and the birds would just flock to you.  Mya freaked out about it and it was pretty funny.  We went back for second round later on in the day and she decided she was going to be brave and try to hold a stick.

Mya's favorite part was feeding the giraffes!  We were able to feed two giraffes carrots and check out their long tongues!

Mya was out literally two minutes after we left the park!

After dinner that night we headed to Lake Superior because it was an absolutely beautiful night.  We took some short hiking trails to see some falls.

Then we got to Lake Superior.  It was warm and hazy on the lake and it was amazingly peaceful.  Mya liked skipping rocks.  A lovely evening.

We had such a good time on our little vacation with Mya.  I know that she had a great time and enjoyed spending some Ellie-less time with us.

I missed Ellie like crazy, but my mom did a great job of sending me texts and pictures so I could get my Ellie fix.

Next summer we are going to head back to the area with both of the girls and do some camping.  Such a great time!

4 Months Old!

A little about Ellison at 4 months old...

*She weighs 15 lbs, 2 oz and is 25 inches long.
*She loves to eat!  Only she doesn't love to eat solids yet.  I tried cereal with her and she seemed to like it and then the next day she wouldn't take any more.  I've also tried fruits with her and she just purses her lips.  Oh well, obviously she is not lacking for nourishment!  Ha!
*She can roll over from her tummy to her back...when she wants to.
*Ellie is the most happy right after her naps.  She talks screeches like crazy and is suuuuuuper smiley!
*Her fuzzy blanket is her comfort, even when it is hot out.
*Ellie likes to play with her toes.
*Things outdoors intrigue her, like cars passing by, water on the lake, leaves blowing in the breeze.
*Snuggling is still on of her favorite things to do
*And yes, she still thinks Mya is pretty amazing!  :)
