Weekend with Grama and Grampa!

This past weekend we made the big move from Winona to Eau Claire.  My parents graciously volunteered to watch Mya.  This turned out to be the biggest help imaginable.  I love Mya to pieces, but a 16 month old who wants to "help" makes for a difficult move! While Greg and I slaved away with the help of his family, Mya hung out all weekend and had a great time!

Like I said, Mya "helping" isn't really help at all.  The next two pictures tell it all!!

Mya was Grampa's girl this weekend.  She made sure she could see him at all times when he was outside.

Thank you to my parents who were lifesavers this weekend!  We love you and know that Mya loves you too!!

Buh, bye...

Last week was Mya's last week at daycare...sniff, sniff.  I sent the camera along with her and got some good shots of Mya and her partners in crime.

Mya and Tina

It was so sad saying goodbye to Tina.  She's taken such good care of Mya for her first year and a half of her life.  At first, I was so hesitant to send her because I figured no one could take care of my child but me.  However, Mya fell in love with Tina and all the kiddies and so did we.  Mya even calls Tina "momma."  Greg asked me if I was upset that Mya called her that.  My response?  Heck no!  If I can't be with Mya during the day to be her momma, then I'm glad she loves someone else that much to call "momma."

I'm looking forward to spending every single day with Mya this summer.  I have some fun things planned for the two of us...and Greg, if he's interested!  I'm lucky enough to work in a profession where I can spend a nice amount of time at home with my child.  She might get sick of me, but I hope that one day she appreciates the time we have together.

Time Out

Ahhhh, yes.  The time has come for Mya to give time out a whirl.  Last night right before bedtime she bit my arm.  I marched her over to the rug, told her why she was in time out...then ran to get the camera!  She does really well with time out, actually.  She cries, but she doesn't get up.
After a minute I told her she could get up, so she gave me a hug and kiss, and then went to sit back down on the rug!  Poor kid thought she was still in trouble!  Hopefully she doesn't spend a lot of time on the time out rug!
The other day, Tina had to put her in time out twice.  She said she felt so awful because she looks too little to be sitting in time out!  However, I know that if we don't nip things in the bud now, like hitting and biting, it'll be worse as she gets older.

Nigh, Nigh

For whatever reason, Mya thinks it's fun to go in her baby doll's pack and play.  She hangs out in there with her baby dolls.  Logical.

After she climbed in, she said "Nigh, nigh," and laid down in the pack and play.  It didn't look comfortable at all, but she did this zillion times more, so obviously she thought it was fun.  She had a giggle fit when I squished my face against the mesh on the side.  Oh, the things we do to keep kids happy!  :)

The Zoo Called...Your Monkey Daughter is on the Loose!

There are advantages to moving...like finding new hiding spaces in places that were previously occupied by dishes.

Happy Father's Day!

Dear Daddy,
I hijacked the blog to let you know how much I love you!  You are the best dad EVER!  We have lots of fun together when you read me books, chase me around the house, cuddle me, clean up after me...yadda, yadda, yadda.
Keep up the good work!
Love,
Mya

P.S. Momma insisted on taking a picture of me with my fish kissy lips.  So, consider this your virtual kiss!!

Cabin Time!

Mya and I took a mini vacation and went up to Axehandle Lake for some summer fun!  I realized that having all the sand, water, and toys in the world can't compete with one thing for Mya...cats.  My cousin, Lisa, has three cats and Mya made a beeline for those cats the second we walked into the cabin.  For the time that we were there, those cats were Mya's BFF.  Now, I'm not saying that Mya was the cat's BFF...
It was sweet because she was very gentle with them (for the most part), petted them, and kissed them.  Every time she saw one of them, she would say "Hiiiiiiiii" in her sweet little voice.  And if you are wondering, no, we are NOT getting a cat!!

We tested out the lake and realized that it is COLD!!  The water was tippy toe worthy, that's about it!

Last year when Mya was a wee one we tested out the trampoline.  This year we gave it a shot again...no shocker, she loved it!  We spent a lot of time bouncing on the trampoline!

Mya also played with the dollhouse that Lisa had there.  I was really surprised at how into it she got!

It was like watching Animal Planet while up at the lake.  We had momma, daddy and baby ducks that went swimming by frequently.

One morning Mya, my Auntie Beck and I went on a walk.  We ran into this snapper.  Mya thought it was pretty cool, the turtle didn't think we were that cool.

Cassie and I tried taking Mya in the paddleboat...apparently it was too slow because it didn't last long!

Mya kept attempting to climb up into the loft.  It won't be long before this little monkey figures out how to climb the rungs of the ladder!

Like I said, the lake water was pretty chilly.  Mya was willing to dip her toes in, but that was about it.  She did like flaunting off her bikini bod, though!

Again, the trampoline was a hit!!

The static hair just cracks me up!

Out for a ride in the "fast" boat.  She loved riding in it and laughed the whole time!

A bath was a necessity!!!!
