Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model?

Well, I've been on a roll.  We're getting ready for swimsuit season by trying on all of her swimsuits.
From the front, she looks like she's been working out (maybe)...

...and then we see the side profile and it looks like she's eaten about 10 Big Macs or something!  (In her defense, she did just polish off a big bowl of mac and cheese)!

Mya was perfectly content hanging out in her swimsuit.  But, her little hands and feet started getting cold and so it was decided to get her into her jammies.  Such a funny kid!

A Quick Visit to the Doctor

Mya's teeth have really been bothering her lately...or so we thought.  Over the past few nights she's been waking up crying.  I wondered if it was her ears.  She was also tugging at her ears today at daycare.  I quick made a call into the clinic and was able to get her in this afternoon.

She had fun playing in the waiting room with the toys and sitting at the kid sized table.

Here's the big girl waiting for Dr. Severson to come in.  Today she weighed in at 22 lb., 4 oz.  Mya's favorite part about waiting was crumpling the paper on the bench.

It was a quick doctors visit...momma's intuition was confirmed and she does have an ear infection.  Poor kid!

We headed to Walgreens to pick up Mya's prescription.  It wasn't ready when we got there so we had to kill some time by walking around.  Of course, she had to drag out every. single. baby. doll she could find in the aisles.  Thankfully the prescription got filled quickly, otherwise the aisles may have been strewn with baby dolls!

She was also very fascinated with the wind chimes!

So, here's hoping her meds do the job quickly...I'd like my non-tantrum throwing daughter back!  :)

Weekend Up North

On Friday, Mya and I made our way up to Eau Claire for the weekend.  Playing in the cupboards...that's kind of all she did all weekend long.  Open and close, take spices out, put back, repeat.

I brought home a dress that I wore when I was 9 months old and I wanted to take a few pictures of Mya in it.  And then I felt the need to get her pictures taken with a bunny in my old dress at Sharp.  Oh what a weekend!!

We also got Mya a new swimsuit and she was hospitable to taking some pictures in it.  I can't wait for this summer and we can spend alllllll day long outside in Mya's kiddo pool!

Baby Butt

Mya's baby butt makes me laugh!  It's just so pinchable!  When we put her down for a nap or bedtime, her butt immediately goes up in the air and her little hands get tucked under her chest.  She kind of reminds me of a turtle!
Oh, and don't you love her bedhead?  :)

I Heart Grandma(s)!

To Mya's blogging Grandmas...

Good Night, Sleep Tight...

The other night I put Mya down for bed, just like any other night.  And just like any other night I went in to check on her a little bit later.  This night was different though.  The air was a bit foul smelling, you might say.  I knew I couldn't let her sleep in a nasty diaper, so I picked her up, put her on the changing table, and changed her.  She slept through the whole thing!

Lark Toys: Round 2

Today the three of us went to Lark Toys for a little family fun.  We packed up the stroller and headed toward Kellogg.  It's been a while (probably since last fall with the warmer weather) that we've gotten to break it out!

The first thing we did was grab some lunch.  Mya gobbled up a hot dog.  Then we moved into the toy shop.  I love going there because it's so kid friendly.  Mya liked the puppet theater/tent.  She kept trying to play peek-a-boo with me!

They also had some costumes there.  Why not dress Mya up like a bee?

She played with the toy trains...

pushed baby dolls in the grocery cart...

and rocked some babies in the cradle.

She also wanted to do some shopping of her own and was convinced she needed ANOTHER baby doll.  (One of us distracted her with something else, so she eventually forgot about the baby!)

Then it was time to ride on the carousel.  Since I rode with her on it last time, Greg had carousel duties today.  And like last time, she didn't really care one way or another about being on it.  She was much more interested in what she saw on her way around it.

Mya is at such a fun age and we are able to do more and more things with her.  I can't wait for this summer when we can fill up her pool and hang out outside all day long!

A Visit from a Unicorn!

Long ago, okay, maybe not that long ago, my cousin Lisa found this super duper fun unicorn costume for Mya.  Since we had a lot of time to kill this weekend, I tried it on her.  And go figure...she liked it!  This kid won't keep a hat on her head for the life of her, but she wouldn't take the unicorn head/hood off!  She thought it was funny to see herself in the mirror more than anything!

The unicorn ran away from me and tried shutting the door on me.  Alas, my camera taking skills were quicker than her door shutting skills!

Then she went to check herself out in the mirror AGAIN and give her crazy unicorn twin a kiss!

Then the unicorn ran away again...don't you seriously love that tail?

Then the unicorn finally decided she had been "horsing" around enough and took time out to read a book.  Ahhh...the life of a unicorn!!

A Mommy and Mya Weekend

This was Greg's weekend to work, so Mya and I were buddies all weekend long!  So, what do two hip chicks do all weekend?  Well,

we play with shapes...

we wrestle Winnie the Pooh...

we play with things that entertained us MONTHS ago, like a baby bouncer...

we play peek-a-boo behind doors...

we build towers with blocks...

and we laugh...A LOT!

We also kept busy by wrapping baby dolls up in blankets and rocking them, reading zillions of books, chasing each other up and down the hallway and eating lots of food!  My favorite part is when she's ready to go down for a nap.  She'll bring her blanket to me and want to sit on my lap on the couch and snuggle.  That's all she needs.  I know she's getting bigger and more independent, but I hope that never stops.

The Barefoot Bandit

Socks seem to bug Mya now.  She tries to take them off whenever she can.  This morning I went in to get her out of her crib and discovered her socks on the floor.  So, I put them back on and plopped her on the changing table to change the diaper.  Instantly she started pulling at her socks again!  The only way her socks stay on are if she has shoes on and sometimes she pries her shoes off in order to get at her socks again!

When I was little I apparently liked taking my shoes off all the time.  So, my daycare lady's husband duct taped my shoes to my legs so that I would keep them on.  If Mya keeps this up, I may need to invest in some duct tape!

Mya In Action!

Last night I caught Mya in the middle of attempting to climb up on her rocking chair.  In her defense, it was harder to climb up since she did just have a rockin' meal and so her belly was a bit swollen!  I particularly love the part where she tries rocking it herself!

A Girl and Her Chair

Mya has sat in her little rocking chair before, however, this week she has learned how  climb up onto it.  Many times she will sit backwards because she hasn't quite figured out the turning part!  Sometimes she will try to rock it herself!  It's funny how something that has been around her entire life (short as it has been), is just now gaining her attention!  She loves it!  She runs to it when we get home and it entertains her for quite a while!

We also ran out of milk, juice and water.  We had to resort to giving her a Sam Adams.  ONLY KIDDING!
