Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Mya loves to sing, there's no doubt about it.  Tonight she won't stop singing "The Wheels on the Bus", yesterday it was "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."  I've always said I need to record her singing because someday she's going to grow out of that little girl voice and I'm going to miss it.  So, I caught her in the moment.  Enjoy!

P.S.  She probably would have kept singing but she became intrigued with a piece of tape on the ladder of which she was sitting.

Gobble, Gobble

Thanksgiving 2011 has come and gone and we are still stuffed.  Mya and I went over the Telisak house in the morning and then to my parent's house in the afternoon.  It was a bummer that Greg had to work, but we had a mini Thanksgiving a couple weeks prior.  We visited with family, ate too much food, played games, and had fun!

Mya is very much into technology.  Lisa brought along her tablet and the two of them watched Elmo.

We have so much to be thankful for this year.  We are lucky enough to have such an amazing family, our health, and one special little girl.  Life couldn't get much better!

21 Months Old

Well, it is hard to believe that in 3 short months, crazy little Mya will be 2 years old!  How is this possible?!

Favorite things:  ANYTHING Elmo, baby dolls, reading books, ah ahs (a.k.a. monkeys), coloring, cleaning, shoes, listening to music, eating snacks, singing, playing with other kids, being tossed in the air by Daddy and cuddling with Momma.

What she can do:  Mya can put on her own shoes, socks and pants.  She also undresses herself in her crib.  She is already a very good student, too.  She sings the ABC's pretty well.  She can sing the tune and adds in letters here and there.  She's also an okay counter...she can count to 5.  Mya is an excellent jumper, in case you were wondering.  Mya also is very good at trying to leave us.  She grabs a purse, baby doll, keys and says buh-bye as she walks past us.  Mya gives the best hugs and kisses, too.  She talks non-stop....half of which we don't understand, but still.

Mya keeps us on our toes.  She is a ball of comedy, sass, independence, sweetness, and love all rolled up into one.  She's unique, kind-hearted, creative, and beautiful.  We love this little girl more than anything in the world.

Art Projects

Let's just say that I'm not brave enough to use paints with Mya yet.  She does love projects, so we'll have to give it a whirl sometime...with splat mats everywhere!!  Thank goodness she is getting these artsy experiences at daycare!

Daycare sent home some of her art projects a few weeks ago.  My personal favorite is the jack-o-lantern.  It is going in the keepsake box, for sure!

Today Mya came home with a turkey headband.  I think it looks more like a potato with feathers, but that's okay.  Mya made it and that's what's important.

Admiring some of her other artwork while wearing the turkey headband
Mya spent some time with Aunt Tanya and kids over the weekend.  They made art projects too!  Tanya said that Mya definitely didn't like having paint on her hand.  Yep, I could see that one coming.  Mya H.A.T.E.S having anything "dirty" on her hands.

My dilemma is going to be...which treasures do I keep???  I don't want to turn into that hoarder mom who saves everything!  :)

Old Pictures

The other day we were out and about town searching for some winter apparel.  I snapped a shot of Mya trying out her new purple jacket and snow pant set with my camera phone.  When I looked back through the pictures, I realized I had a bunch of them dating back to summer.  You can tell that they are older pictures because there are some where Mya has far less hair than now...even though I wouldn't say she has tons now!  :)

All ready for winter

Christmas Gift Idea

A while back, Mya and I met up with Lisa for dinner at Culvers...mmmmmm!  (Have I mentioned that I LOVE being back home so that we can see our families more??)  Anyway, Mya was thoroughly entertained by Lisa's iPhone.  She loved playing a game where you had to sling animals at other animals and she really loved listening to music.  It was adorable, she put in the ear phones and sat there mesmerized listening to the music!

Poor Mya is going to be sorely disappointed because Momma didn't put an iPhone on Mya's Christmas wish list.

A Day in the Life of a 20 Month Old

So, you may be thinking to yourself, "What does a 20 month old do all day long?"  Well, here you go...

Mya wakes up the happiest kid ever.  She is always so excited for someone to come get her in her crib.  Even if I have to wake her up for daycare, she is so cheerful and it does not take long for her to perk up!  If we are home, it's nice to stay in our jammies for a while.  Mya is on the go from the minute her feet hit the floor...or crawl up a chair, if you'd like to get technical...

Breakfast usually consists of milk and waffles.  On work days, I let her sit in her little rocking chair, eat breakfast and watch Curious George so I can get us ready to head out the door.

Mya loves to snack.  She especially loves bananas, string cheese, fruit snacks, grapes, and Chicken in a Biskit crackers...

A day wouldn't be complete without dressing up in some of Nadya's hand-me-downs!

Onto our day...we keep busy!  We spend time reading books, playing instruments, running around, playing with baby dolls, singing songs, dancing, running errands, and coloring.  Lots and lots of coloring.  (She also naps somewhere in there).

Snuggled in watching Sesame Street
Playdate with Trajan
Rocking her baby doll

Sometimes we make our own fun and look what happens...Mya ends up in a cooler.

Some nights involve bathtime.  Mya loves her tub time and would stay in there as long as she can.  She is obsessed with bubbles and loves to chase them around the tub.

Then it's time to put pajamas on...or attempt to put pajamas on.

Then it's time to call it a night.

We love our days and nights with Mya and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

BOO!

Mya was a little ladybug for Halloween.  If she had her way, I'm sure she would have loved to have been Elmo!  Oh well, Mom trumps Mya!  :)

We weren't sure if Mya would like trick-or-treating, so we decided to skip it.  She's never eaten candy anyway, so it's probably a good thing.  Otherwise, she'd be addicted, just like her momma!

Instead, we headed over to my parent's house to visit.  Mya surprisingly kept her costume on for quite a while, which was great because she looked adorable!  (Okay, Mom bias coming through!)

Cheese!

Of course the shoes had to come off before we could even make it into the house

Mya loved watching out the window and front door to see if kids were coming.  She was very interested in the little kids especially!  She was a very good helper and passed candy out to the trick-or-treaters.  Maybe next year we'll go around the neighborhood.

Just waiting...

...and waiting some more
