Play Time

Yesterday was a beautiful day and Mya and I spent time outside.  Our neighbor has horses and she likes to look at them from afar.  She had fun running down our hill and playing on her climber.  She's so interested in everything, which makes everything so fun!

Here she's showing me where her head is.  She had on a one-piece romper yesterday and when I asked her where her tummy was she looked at me very quizzically.  Normally she lifts up her shirt to show off her tummy.  In a romper it's not so easy to do!!

This is what it looks like when it's time to go inside and SOMEBODY doesn't want to go in!!  Ahh...good times!

Pucker Up!

Kisses are a frequent occurrence with Mya!  She gives them to anyone that asks...even the non-living animal statues in my parent's backyard.  Sigh.  She makes me laugh all the time!!

Welcome Home, Justin!

Mya's uncle Justin recently came home from Afghanistan and we headed up to Eau Claire to help welcome him home!  We ate a lot of food and played with a lot of kids!  We were just glad to see Justin home safe and sound!

Sometimes it's hard to get Mya moving.  But, if you say, "Do you want to go outside?" the kid makes a beeline for the door.  She had a super duper good time outside with her cousins!  She loved being a little dare devil and took a bunch of trips down the slide.

The swing seemed to be the biggest hit with Mya.  No baby swing for her!  She plopped her little butt down and enjoyed being pushed by Daddy and Nadya!

Playing in the sandbox with Trajan was fun too!

Mya even got a few good pictures with Grandpa Steve and Grandma Pat (and Aidan too!)

Tub Time

What a change there has been in Mya in one year!  One year ago she ate rice cereal...

...now she eats EVERYTHING and doesn't want anyone else to help her!

Bath time is such a fun thing to Mya.  I think she could seriously sit in there for hours!  Trying to coax her out can be difficult.  I'll even drain the water out of the tub and she continues to sit there and play!  Hopefully she's going to like the lake as much as she likes the tub!!

Mya was so proud of herself.  She lined up her bath toys on the tub ledge.  Then she'd take them off and put them back on there.  This entertained her for a good 10 minutes!  I'm guessing she gets this organizational strand of DNA from my mom...who passed it onto me...you get the picture.

I'm pretty sure that Mya is going to be the kind of kid that mimics everything that others do.  She gave me the fish and I gave it a kiss.  Well, then she had to do it...a zillion times.  Monkey see, monkey do!

Pouty McPouterson

Mya pouts like a pro.  All you have to do is stick out your lip and this little parrot does the same thing...then she starts laughing.

Summer Sweetie

Sunday was another gorgeous day!  We had plans for a nice long walk in the morning, but someone was a bit out of sorts and so we turned around and headed for home.  I thought Mya felt warm, so I checked her temp and sure enough she had a fever.  I felt around in her mouth and discovered one of her upper eye teeth popped through.  It also felt like something was about to pop through on the bottom because her gums seemed pretty swollen.

Teething takes its toll on Mya.  She was very cuddly today and wanted to be wherever I was.  Sometimes all she wanted was to be held and lay her head down on my shoulder.  I always feel so bad for her when she's not feeling her best...hopefully those darn teeth do their thing quickly!

Since she had a fever pretty much all day, I didn't want to keep her outside in the heat.  But, I did want to try and get a few pictures after her nap, so here they are!

Pool Time!

Summer fun is upon us!  Warm weather, grilling, and inflatable pools!  Greg filled up Mya's pool and she tested it out this weekend!  She played with her watering can and other toys.

Oh how I love Mya's little pouty faces!  I haven't been able to catch them with the camera, but here I got one...along with a bucket on her head!

My favorite picture!

After getting her swimsuit off, I had the brilliant idea to let Mya run around naked for a little bit.  And it wasn't so much that I let her as she ran away from me...

I have learned a lesson.  Diaper the butt!  She plopped down to play with some toys and literally a minute later I looked over at her and she had pooped on the floor.  G.R.O.S.S.! She has NEVER done that before, even in the tub where most kids do!  Again, lesson learned.

All the swimming and pooping really tuckered her out because she fell asleep with her baby doll in her arms.
