Lovin' the Lake!

Last week we took a few days off and headed up to the northwoods!  We ate a TON and played a lot!

The trampoline never fails to be a huge hit with Mya.  She's a wild woman.  The higher she can bounce...the better...at least in her mind.

The first day was windy and the water was chilly.  I wasn't interested in putting a swimsuit on.  Uncle Noah thought that it would be fun for her to just get her feet wet.  Right.  She wanted to swim.  So, off came the clothes and she swam.  This kid has no fear of water and seriously loves it!

We got out the boogie board and had fun with that.  She knew how to kick her legs and how to grab onto the side.

Of course, no trip to the lake would be complete without a boat ride (or two, or three).  Mya kept squealing "It's windy!"  Funny!

The hammock was another fun find.  She loves to swing.  On anything.

Cassie had to work a bunch so we didn't see much of her.  But when we did, they made funny faces together!

Oh, the water!  Mya would stay in it all day, if she could.

Blane came up with the boys and, almost immediately, they had another buddy.  Mya loves to be "one of the big kids."  Wherever Cameron and Ethan went, Mya went.  It was such a sweet sight to see!

We can't wait for our next summertime adventure!  :)

2 Bompas and a Daddy

On Father's Day morning we headed out to breakfast with the Telisak family.  Poor Greg had to work on his "day!"  That's okay, Mya was sure to leave him a special gift and card so he wasn't forgotten.

Nod and William met us in the parking lot and immediately locked hands...sweetness!
Since we are not a small family, we got housed in a room off the main dining room.  Which was probably good because of all the kids running around!  Mya, the picky eater that she is, didn't want to eat anything.  So, she just made the rounds to visit.  Her favorite stop was Talia, of course!.

After breakfast we went over to my parent's house!

Mya adores her daddy!  On the days he has to work, one of the first things she asks me (of many things she asks me) is "Where did Daddy go?"  Again, she adores him!

Mya was soooo lucky to spend Father's Day with her 2 bompas and daddy!  She loves them all so much!

Ketchup

What is it with ketchup?  As picky of an eater as Mya is, she LOVES ketchup.  Everything goes in it...hot dogs, pineapple, cheese.  You get the picture.

On this particular evening, it wasn't what was put in the ketchup, it was more how much ketchup Mya could put on herself.  Bath time came immediately after the ketchup started to get painted on her arms and tray...

We Heart Summer!

Summer has barely begun and yet Mya's been in water more times than not!  Last week we took a trip over to the pool and had a GREAT time!  It was super warm out, but the water was very comfy!  The only way I could bribe Mya out of the pool was with food...go figure.

We took advantage of the nice weather by heading down to Phoenix Park.  We bought fresh veggies from the farmer's market and then played around.

We also went over to the fountains on another really warm day!  I get such a kick out of watching her run around with her chubby little legs!  It was a great way to cool off!

We've also been out in the sprinkler a lot, too.  Sometimes in a swimsuit and sometimes (one time) in clothes.  The water is cold, but Mya does not care at all!

One of the funniest moments of the past week was when I was printing out some things for the next school year.  (Whoever says that teachers get "summers off" obviously didn't know a teacher).  Mya was completely focused and then excited about what was being printed!

Happy Birthday, Granny!

Last weekend we headed south to Rockford to celebrate my grandma's 90th birthday!  Mya was an angel in the car!  Thank goodness for snacks and movies because she was entertained the whole way down!

We went to visit Grandma Dorothy on Saturday morning before the shindig began.  Mya had been looking forward to seeing her great-grandma again!  (She's been calling her Dorothy...not Grandma Dorothy!)  Mya played on the swing, the porch swing and the magnets on Grandma's fridge.

After a nap, we went over to my aunt and uncle's house for the party!  My dad has 7 siblings who live all over the country and everyone was able to be back for this!  It was great!

Mya had suuuuuuch a good time and was our little entertainer.  Her favorite part had to be the rock garden and stream running through it.  It seemed to be a hit with most of the kids!

Then we moved onto family pictures.  Okay, the next picture is certainly not one of the best.  People are looking every which way, which I think is funny in and of itself.  The reason I chose this photo is because of Mya.  I mentioned that she was an entertainer at the party.  This is what I'm talking about.  Toward the end of the great grandkids picture time, Mya pulled out her sumo wrestler-like moves.  Very classy.  It continued on for a while.  She definitely made her mark on my relatives, that's for sure!  She was just so silly and would dance for anyone that looked at her.

Mya was so good in the hotel.  She didn't sleep in her pack n' play, she slept in bed with either me or my mom.  And other than one minor rolling out of bed incident, she was awesome!

Her job was to push the buttons on the elevator and she was a rock star at it.  She also loved the luggage cart.

We had a wonderful weekend and were so thankful to be able to spend it with so many people!
