Christmas Pictures

Toward the end of November, we got the girls' pictures taken for our Christmas card.  I was very pleased with how they turned out.  Ellie wasn't in a smiley mood, but she still looked chubby and cute!  Mya was as photogenic as usual!

Christmas 2014

Christmas is always like a marathon.  It seems like we are always running from this place to that place.  Mya loves all of the hustle bustle and being with all of our families.

Christmas Eve started out with Greg's family.  Nearly everyone was home for Christmas, so it was a full house.  The kids always do a gift exchange and Mya got a Nerf gun from Tatiana.  It was a hit, to say the least!  Ellie got a musical toy from Aidan.  She loves things that make noise!

Following that, we headed down to my parents for our traditional homemade pizzas.  We ate and then opened gifts from my parents.  We even got a few nice family pictures!

Ellie does this hilarious head tilt thing.  She just looks at you and then does it.  It always makes me giggle!

Since Ellie didn't really get into the gift opening thing this year, Mya was very helpful in opening up her gifts.  :)

Christmas morning, Mya woke up and went to go see Ellie.  I think she initially forgot it was Christmas!  Then she realized what day it was and wanted to go downstairs to see if the Santa came.  She came upstairs kind of sad like.  She asked Greg if she had been naughty because she didn't see any presents.  Aww..poor girl!  Well, she neglected to go back by the Christmas tree.  When I reminded her of that, she perked back up!  Santa came and brought some fun toys for both of the girls!  Ellie was having a good time chewing on the wrapping paper and toothbrushes that were in the stockings.  Such simplicity for the baby!

The girls had a wonderful Christmas!  And Greg and I did too!

First Day of 4K!

How is Mya old enough to be in 4K already?  Sigh.  This little learner loves school!  She loves her teacher and having reading homework!  Mrs. Megan told us that Mya is a hard worker.  She tells me about her day and usually has a song to sing or a book review of something they read that day.  She loves it!

Back to School

I am feeling a bit sad tonight.  Okay, I have tears welling up in my eyes right now.  Blah.  Tomorrow marks the first day of school, which means I am not able to stay home with the girls anymore.  :(

I know how fortunate I was to have 5 months at home with both of them, but more would be nice!  I don't want to miss out on things that I know I will.

Tomorrow they will also start at a new daycare.  I am in love with their new daycare, as it houses Mya's 4K school, too.  I can already tell that the teachers are wonderful and caring.  It's just a change and I just don't handle change all that well.

So, tonight, I will snuggle both of these kiddos as long as I can and probably shed a few more tears and tomorrow brings forth a new day!

5 Months Old...Already?

This giggly little girl turns 5 months old TODAY!

Here are some facts about Ellie at 5 months old...

*She is very ticklish, especially on her thighs.  She can really get a laughing when being tickled!
*She giggles when she gets wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket.
*She loves to play with her toes and her fat rolls on her stomach.
*Ellie likes to eat baby oatmeal, sweet potatoes, squash and most fruits.  The green shades will be next!
*Ellie likes to bop around in her activity jumper.  She sits in it, so I am sure it gives her a whole new perspective of the world!
*She is still a lover and cuddler.
*Ellie likes to ride in the stroller and chew on the straps holding her in.

Can I just say how lucky we are to have little Ellie?  Love her to pieces!

Last Hurrah!

With summer quickly coming to an end, we've been squeezing in as much fun in the sun as we can!  We made a couple more trips up to the lake to spend time with family.

We don't get to see my brother that often, but he came back to town at the end of July for his birthday.  Mya was very happy to see him!

Lisa and Blane took Mya for a canoe ride into one of the back bays.  She had a great time!  Too bad canoes don't have spots for baby carriers, otherwise I would have strapped Ellie in!

One night we had a movie night outside on the big screen!  The boys rigged up a sheet, movie projector and everyone had a great time watching Despicable Me 2.

We enjoyed what we could of the weather and Mya stayed in the water as long as she could.

And Ellie?  Well, she hung out in somebody's lap usually!  :)

And then we celebrated Uncle Noah's birthday with a Curious George cake.  Mya picked it out!

We also met up with some of my cousins from Rockford that we don't get to see often.  Mya had a ball with the big kids jumping off of the water trampoline and putting on fashion shows!

These next two pictures are a couple of my current favorites.  Poor Ellie!

Ellie also got to try out the water and she seems to like it, even though it's not as warm as her bathwater!

And a couple videos for your viewing pleasure!
