A couple weekends ago we took Mya to the Wildwoods Wildlife Park in Minocqua. We left Ellie with my parents...it was my first time away from her overnight, so I was a bit sad. But, Mya reminded me that I still have her...so that brought a smile to my face!
We left on a Friday afternoon and drove to Ironwood, MI where we stayed overnight. We arrived, had dinner and then hit up the pool, where Mya showed us some of her swimming skills. Greg also showed us his ability to launch her into the air and catch her. She couldn't get enough of it!
The next morning we got up and traveled to the zoo. By far, it is the best zoo/wildlife park I have ever been to. They had tons of animals from all over the world and we were able to interact with some of them. It was sooo much fun and Mya was able to see an incredible amount of animals!
| The goats like to eat. They tried to eat Mya's dress, my purse and the stroller seat. They also got a hold of a package of crackers and ripped it open. |
| Greg and Mya got to feed a bear! |
The parakeet pavilion was my favorite thing. You could purchase a stick with birdseed on it and the birds would just flock to you. Mya freaked out about it and it was pretty funny. We went back for second round later on in the day and she decided she was going to be brave and try to hold a stick.
Mya's favorite part was feeding the giraffes! We were able to feed two giraffes carrots and check out their long tongues!
Mya was out literally two minutes after we left the park!
After dinner that night we headed to Lake Superior because it was an absolutely beautiful night. We took some short hiking trails to see some falls.
Then we got to Lake Superior. It was warm and hazy on the lake and it was amazingly peaceful. Mya liked skipping rocks. A lovely evening.
We had such a good time on our little vacation with Mya. I know that she had a great time and enjoyed spending some Ellie-less time with us.
I missed Ellie like crazy, but my mom did a great job of sending me texts and pictures so I could get my Ellie fix.
Next summer we are going to head back to the area with both of the girls and do some camping. Such a great time!
