Smiles and Spring Weather

Oh, how long it seems like we've waited for beautiful days!  Everyone has been chomping at the bit to get outside!  We've been spending so much time outside lately and it feels so good to feel the warm sunshine on the face!  Every night after work we head to the park or take a bike ride around the block.  Mya finally can wear all of her dresses...which is an obsession of hers.  She is so excited that she doesn't have to wear socks or a jacket!

Happy Birthday, Bompa!

This weekend was all about my dad...a.k.a. Bompa Bruce.  It was his 60th birthday!!

The prep work for Bompa's birthday present took place during the week.  Mya got him a bird feeder, because Bompa likes birds.  She worked very hard painting it to look beautiful.  Then, Daddy helped her nail it together.  She was so proud of that bird feeder!

Uncle Noah even came back into town for the weekend to help celebrate Bompa's big six-oh.  Mya was very happy to see him!!

Mya sang the Happy Birthday song many times...she really loves birthdays!  She helped Bompa blow out his candles, too!

And, since it is April 21st and all...it wouldn't be Wisconsin weather without snow.  Blah.

Sick Day

On Sunday, Mya and I stayed home from church because we were going to go to something for daycare.  It was a good thing we stayed home...poor kid got sick.  She was fine one minute and then the next minute she was throwing up in my hands.  (Sorry for the visual.)  Greg was off yesterday, so he stayed home with her and now I'm home with her today.

There's been a lot of this going on...

Today she has been perfectly fine and has even been eating food!  We did some painting, cuddling, read books and sang songs.  Kind of like nothing was wrong.

I have to say that although it is a pain in the butt getting sub plans together, it is always worth it to stay home with her.  Sometimes we just need our moms!

Dr. Mya

Lately, Mya has been very interested in pretending to be a doctor.  She'll jump on the couch and then pretend to get hurt.  Then one of us has to fix her.  So, I picked up on a doctor's "tool" bag for her.  Oh my word!  She's having so much fun doctoring up her animals and humans, too!  She'll look in my eyes and ears and say, "Yep, looks good."  She especially likes giving shots.  It's scary how much she enjoys inflicting pretend pain on others.

Even though she is a fine little doctor...if you ask her, she still wants to be a teacher.  :)

Eggs and Cookies

A couple weeks ago, Grandma Pat took all of the littles and colored Easter eggs and decorated cookies with them.  Mya loves spending time with her cousins!  She had so much fun that there was frosting of some color in her hair!  Needless to say, she took a bath that night!  :)

Easter Sunday

Sunday morning Mya slept in (past 8:30!!!).  When the lazy bones finally did get up, we headed downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny came.  Sure enough, he did!  He brought Mya some summer clothes, Blue's Clues movie, Rapunzel doll and dress, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and a Brewers baseball and bat!!  That Easter Bunny didn't even bring any candy!  He probably knew that Mya wouldn't eat it and then Mommy would be FORCED into eating it!  Ha!

Mya put on her Easter dress and we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Telisak's house for their Easter celebration.  She played with all her cousins and we ate more food!

Grandma also hid a ton of eggs for all of the kids.  Inside each egg was a quarter...Mya's favorite thing!  That kid loves to put money in her piggy bank!

We had a wonderful holiday weekend and hope that you did too!

Easter Saturday

For the last couple of years, my parents have moved our family's Easter celebration to Saturday so that people don't have to split up the day on Easter Sunday.  We are soooo appreciative of that because that means we can spend all day Saturday with my family and all day Sunday with Greg's family.

This year I picked up some fun bunny glasses.  It was a hit.

Bummer that Uncle Noah couldn't be there...

We put together an Easter egg hunt inside...too bad we still had snow outside!  Mya had a FUN time finding all of her eggs.  They were full of fruit snacks and coins.

She also got spoiled by Auntie Beck with some goodies.  Her bag had Mac and Cheese in it...the best stuff ever!  :)

Our non-traditional Easter Saturday consists of a lot of food!  My dad grilled brats, burgers and chicken and then we stuffed our faces with lots of other stuff.  Yum, yum, yum!

All of our lives are so busy and sometimes it isn't easy to coordinate get-togethers.  I am so thankful that we got to spend this day with our family!
