Just Waiting...

The title sums it up.  We're just waiting.  Waiting for this baby to make her appearance.  Hoping she comes very soon.

But for now, I'm enjoying my time with my outside girl and waiting for my inside girl.

Let It Go

The number one item on our Spring Break bucket list was to purchase "Frozen," which came out today.  Mya has been talking about it for weeks.  We took her to see it in the theater back in the fall and it was a hit then and still is now!

P.S.  Mya loves to sing.  She also has a tiny flare for the dramatic.  Must get that from Greg!

Teacher, Teacher

Mya is a chip off the ol' block.  She loves to pretend she is a teacher!

A couple weeks ago I needed to work at school on the weekend and since Greg was working, Mya needed to come with me.  She kept busy by retrieving all of the stuffed animals and making them her class.  She did circle time, read a book and sang some songs.  Adorable!  I was having a hard time concentrating on the work I needed to get done!

She pulled out some books of her sister's and played school with some new-found baby toys.  Listening to her read "Are you my mudder? is just about the funniest thing!  Learning can happen all over!  Her sister will never stand a chance!!

Little Leader

I love this.  It fits Mya perfectly.  I hope that one day she uses her leadership skills to her advantage.  She is a little lady with a mind of her own and possesses strong independence skills.  From now on, I'm not going to say that she is bossy (although she certainly can be).

Watch out America, Mya will one day use her leadership skills to fight crime as a super hero or perhaps take an oath of office.  Or maybe she'll use her leadership skills in the classroom.  Who knows.  One thing we know for sure...we love her caring/sassy/independent/creative ways.  It is what makes her unique and what makes her stand apart from the rest.

Mya's Birthday Party

Last weekend we had our families over to celebrate Mya's birthday.  I wanted to keep it really simple because, well, I have no energy at this point of my pregnancy!  The less work with cooking = happy mom.  So, cake and ice cream it was!

Mya loved having everyone over and had a great time!  She was spoiled with love and gifts and already can't wait until she turns 5!

For her cake, she chose Ariel this year.  I thought it was going to be super heroes or Barbie, but she picked out Ariel!

I don't think Mya will ever get tired of hearing "Happy Birthday" sung to her.  So often we are celebrating things for other people and this one day of the year really is for her.  She soaks up the singing and gets almost shy-like.  The last picture sums it up pretty well.  :)

Mya Turns 4!!! Mya Turns 4!!!

CRAZY!!!

Four years ago, our lives changed in a wonderful way.  Mya is our little ray of sunshine when she snuggles with us and tells us we are her favorite mommy and daddy.  She has a funny sense of humor and doesn't take anything for granted.  She is very appreciative of what she has and sees joy in the simplest things.  She certainly has her "moments," don't get me wrong!  She has a sweet and caring side, but she can turn on the whiny and sassy side in an instant.  Oh well, comes with the territory!

Mya loves to eat pizza, broccoli, string cheese, chicken nuggets, tator tots, yogurt, vanilla ice cream, cupcakes/frosting, donuts with sprinkles, hot dogs, fruit and a host of other foods.

She continues to amaze us with her learning and desire to learn.  She loves to practice handwriting, rhyming, and letter/number recognition.  She loves to play school and be the teacher...she really has a "teacher voice!"

She loves to play Barbies and dollhouse.  She also loves to read books, play board games, watch movies, paint, dance and change her clothes umpteen times a day.

She is excited to be a big sister and I know she'll be a big help when the baby does come!

Our lives have been blessed beyond belief!

A look back...

4 Year Old Check-Up

At the end of January, Mya had her 4 year old check-up.  She weighed in at 35 lbs, 8 oz and was 3 feet 2 inches tall.  That puts her in the 60th percentile for weight and 20th percentile for height.  We know she's kind of shrimpy, but that's okay!  It just means she'll be in the front row for school and dance performances!  :)

She was a good little patient.  They checked her ears and eyes (both of which were perfect).  She also got two shots and didn't cry at all.  Brave girl!  She was pretty excited about the stickers she got afterward.  Little girl is growing up!
