Big Helper

We spent an enjoyable Sunday outside.  Mya played with some sidewalk chalk and made a few designs.  She didn't show a whole lot of interest in it.  She liked her bucket and watering can much more than anything else!

I filled up her little watering can and showed her how to water the flowers.  She thought the watering can could best be used by dumping the water out on the concrete.

Yep, kiddo, it's empty!

I love how Mya is so helpful.  She will throw anything in the garbage that we ask her to.  Sometimes she is too helpful and instead of putting dirty clothes in the laundry basket, I have found her shirts in the garbage!
She shuts doors for us and likes to carry things.  Today she helped pick up pine cones with us.  I couldn't believe how entertained she was by it!

Mya continues to love her baby dolls.  She likes to set them out on her bean bag, cover them with blankets, and give them kisses.

We've been teaching Mya how to say "Shhhhh!" and put her finger up to her mouth.  When we say it, she knows what to do.  Only, the finger doesn't always go where it should.  C'est la vie!

Tonight we went downtown for dinner and then took a stroll along the Mississippi River.

Mya is a very independent soul and only wants to hold hands if it is on her terms.  Tonight she put her hand up to Greg's and then waited until I caught up and held her other hand out to me.  It was so sweet that she wanted to hold both of our hands!

Night, Night

There's nothing I love more than sneaking in after Mya has fallen asleep and just looking at her.  It's so hard not to want to pick her up and snuggle, especially when days are stressful at work.
Her blanket has become her comfort, as of late.  Very rarely is the blanket on top of her.  She usually has it snuggled underneath her.

Warm Spring Nights

Oh, how we love this weather!  After work tonight we made a point to head out and enjoy the weather out on the deck.  Mya zoomed down the slide.  Then we went to check out the horses next door (she seems to like animals a lot!) and play with some toys.

This summer is going to be so much fun!  Mya is at such a great age and I have a feeling we are going to spend more time outdoors than indoors!

I Wouldn't Be Who I Am Without You...

Spring has finally sprung!  Wahoo!  The grass is green, the buds on the trees are blossoming, and flowers are popping up all over.  Mya likes to take the time to observe nature...sometimes by touching or smelling and sometimes by trying to eat!

Friday night Mya and I hung out with Trajan while Greg and Christopher went to a movie.  We played outside until it started getting dark and we had a good time.  But, the best part of the night was when the cuckoo clock at my mom's house would go off.

This is how Mya reacts nearly every single time she sees and hears that cuckoo clock...

...and is here is what it looks like when two toddlers watch that cuckoo clock!  Can you say mesmerized?!?!  If only that bird could go all day long!

On Saturday we went to go visit with Cassie while she got ready for Prom.  She looked absolutely stunning and we were so glad to see her gussied up!!

I've decided that Mya isn't a girly girl.  I don't know if I can picture her in too many dresses...so, bibbed overalls it is!

What a funny little girl!
While everyone got their pictures taken, Mya enjoyed picking grass and chasing ants.
Cassie looked beautiful!

On Sunday, Mother's Day, we headed out to my aunt and uncle's farm for a little lunch.  Mya had fun playing with the kitties...well, they didn't want much to do with Mya.  I think she made too much noise!!

After lunch we went to Klinger's to pick up some flowers.  Mya had to be in charge of doing something and today it was pushing the flower cart with Auntie Beck!

And now onto the meaning behind today's blog post on this Mother's Day.  Without Mya, I wouldn't be a mom and I wouldn't be who I am.  She has made me a better person and I couldn't love a child more than I already love her.  Mya brings unexplainable joy to my life.  Hearing her giggle or hearing her yell, "Maaaaaaa" brings a smile to my face.  I can't help but be proud of all the things she learns each day and the little girl she is turning out to be.  Blessed can be used to sum up my life...

Sick Days

Mya was under the weather last week and so she stayed home a couple days with Greg and then one day with me.  The first two days she seemed to lay really low...napping, cuddling, etc.  She had thrown up several times, had the worst case of diaper rash I'd ever seen, and let's just say she had tummy issues.  She didn't even want to sit down because her poor little heinie was so raw.  Good thing changing her diaper every hour payed off because it did get better.

The day I stayed home with her was better.  She didn't throw up, she just had the other two things going on.  In any case, she seemed perkier than in previous days.  She took a couple long naps and was jolly all day long, well, she was a bit cranky, but I can't blame her.

She wanted to take a ride on her rocking horse...of course she needed to bring snacks along.  Isn't that what every cowgirl brings?

She also wanted to taste test the horse out.  Licking seems to be a favorite thing of hers now.  I don't know why but she is ALWAYS licking something.  Gross!

We still had the box by the window so she could look out down below.  It was her favorite spot in the house!  We'll have to be on the look-out for a kid-friendly step stool for her.

And for a little extra added fun, Mya likes to hang out in her baby dolls' pack and play.  She likes to play with her babies in there and then launch them onto the floor...we're still working on the being gentle thing!  :)

It's like a Where's Waldo, only with Mya!

A Visit to School!

Mya got to spend the day with Grandma Pat and Nadya today, so we carpooled together to school in order to meet them in Arcadia!  Mya had a good time running up and down the hallways.  She also tried to get in some of the doors.  Thank goodness she's not THAT tall yet!

I love how this picture makes her look so little!

She was also very excited to find some kid-friendly toys on her level of the ground!  Balls seem to be the biggest hit with her these days!

Wisconsin Dells Weekend

All the zillion members of the Telisak family converged on the Wisconsin Dells this past weekend to celebrate Izzy's 3rd birthday.  To be honest, I wasn't sure we were going to go.  Mya was home sick on Thursday and then I caught her bug and was home sick on Friday.  I felt better Saturday morning, so we decided to give it a go.  Mya wasn't her total self...probably because her ears were still bothering her and she was tired.  However, it was a grand weekend!

I for sure thought that Mya was going to love the waterpark.  We started over on one side that had more sprayers and a kiddie pool.  She wanted nothing to do with it.  So, we found the tidal wave pool and THAT she liked.  Or maybe it was because I picked her up and just started walking around in the water.  She was definitely having a "momma" kind of a weekend and everywhere I went, so did Mya.  Needless to say, I didn't go on any big slides.  We did shove Mya down a kiddie slide.  She got a face full of water and loved it!

Mya was in a very kissy mood while we were in the pool...my guess is that she was thirsty and liked licking the chlorine off of our faces.  Sweet, isn't it?

Splashing with Daddy

Nadya said there were no boys allowed...then she wanted a picture with Greg!

Grandpa Steve wanted to show off Mya's little tummy!

You'd think it would be easy to get a picture of the grandparents with their 9 grandkids, right?  This is probably the best one...out of nearly 20 taken!

Nadya, Mya and Izzy

Mya and Trajan made their own fun by playing with ice, 2 cups, and a bucket.

Headed down the slide!!
